Back from the conference yesterday with Company Solutions. Some very interesting stuff that, if only I had time to do it all, I am sure will really help the Team to raise profile and gain more supporters.
Fascinated by many of the messages from the corporate side of the conf. (it was corporates in the morning, community and events issues in the afternoon). One thing that was a clear message is that apart from there being some small easy things we can do to make ourselves more visible, most of these involve the effective use of new media. Looks like I will be needing to set up a Twitter account for the Team - I can hear Anna saying "I told you so...".
Everyone can race!
Today - telecon. re. some aspects of the proposed indoor race league and trying to make it all inclusive. The end objective of this is to have an indoor race league running in the Snow Domes which pits able-bodied alongside paralympic type and special olympic type athletes with time factoring to make the FIRST truely inclusive race league anywhere in the world. The league would be a great opportunity for some of our budding racers (such as Ben and Asif below) to get some more mileage indoors, to help us find new racers of all disciplines and to generally raise awareness of the fact that everyone who wants to race should be able to give it a go!
We know we will have great help from our good friends Crystal in this, but any potential partners that would like to get involved please get in touch. We could do with lots of willing volunteers, prize suppliers and finanical partners to help us bring this to reality.
Later today: A meeting over in Manchester with Sarah and a new volunteer over there (Sara) who is keen to help out the team with our fundraising. Thanks Sara!
